BIGTIME STRENGTH

BigTime strength is strength that can be used to perform. Weight training that is poorly designed and over emphasized is as harmful as not lifting. Every strength program we design concentrates on explosive strength; our programs build power (speed and strength combined). Every routine combines strength training with plyometrics and sport specific exercises to give the athlete what they really need-power!
BigTime also implements power circuits that involve exercises of power,core and explosion. There are 3 exercises in each circuit. Each circuit consists of at least 1 minute of all out effort. There is no end to the amount of different exercises that we can do. The only limit is the limit of our imagination. Some of the exercises are military type of exercises that involve the body as the mode for resistance. This part of our program keeps our kids engaged and the difficulty of the routines really challenges them to push themselves past a point they had previously never thought they could go past.
Every BigTime athlete can be recognized because they are the explosive quick, agile athletes; they are easily distinguished from the athletes that aren’t on a BigTime program.
BigTime strength programs are sport specific and very comprehensive. We are solid top to bottom, our lifts cover every body part that is needed for any particular sport and is adapted to fit that individual. We give every individual the chance to train at a level that is usually reserved for college or even pro level athletes. The strength training is adapted to the level, sex and age of each athlete in order to not cause injuries that are related to lifting too much too soon. Lifting is extremely safe when done properly, most injuries occur do to unrealistic expectations of the coach and/or athlete and improper progression and improper form on the lifts.
The variety and core work that is emphasized in every program creates an athlete that is much less likely to break down before they get to where they want to be.
BigTime programs are designed by a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S.), this assures every athlete that they are on a program that is the most thought out most professional program available. Each program is up to date and on the cutting edge of what is being done across the nation in regards to strength and conditioning.
Programs are periodized to maximize short term and long term results. We map every athlete’s program out for at least 12 weeks. We adjust for age, skill level, time of the year, season etc.
BigTime programs are very comprehensive considering the limited time that athletes have to actually train. Power is the key to success in most sports (P=Strength/Time). To develop power, athletes have to combine power lifts (ie Olympic lifts) with plyometrics. BigTime is all about speed and power and we have every athlete learn these type of exercises as early as possible. However, we don't over emphasize this and put the athlete at risk. The program options, the dedication and experience of over 20 years in this field give each athlete an opportunity to develop as an athlete to his or her fullest degree.
